Here are some tip & tricks
when using AisleWise from Alexa.
Alexa doesn't understand homonyms, therefor you must enable
a second Alexa AisleWise skill.
(Big sigh, we had to publish an Alexa skill to handle
"aisle wise" and a second to handle "i'll wise".
But they do the same thing.)
Just follow and enable both Alexa skills below (very similar names), using your existing AisleWise credentials:
Or you can go to the Alexa app and search and enable both.
Otherwise ...
If both are not enabled, when you say this:
'alexa open aisle wise'
You may hear the reply:
I don't understand that.
Or when you say this:
'alexa tell aisle wise to add milk'
You may hear the reply:
I've added milk to your shopping list. (NOTE: this is not your aislewise list)
If you say 'alexa tell aisle wise to add milk', it will go on your AisleWise list and
the reply will be 'milk added to your Aisle Wise list'.
If you say 'alexa add milk', it will go on your Alexa list and the reply will mention your 'shopping list'.
Right now, we do not import Alexa lists into AisleWise ...
But just listen to the response ...
... AisleWise will always mention that the item was added to
your AisleWise list.
Don't bother opening the AisleWise skill when adding a single item.
Instead, say:
'alexa tell aisle wise to add milk.'
Use PLUS to add several items at once, stringing them together like this:
'alexa tell aisle wise to add milk PLUS bread PLUS eggs'
Or, alternatively, open the AisleWise skill by saying:
'alexa open aisle wise'
Then:
'add milk'
'add bread'
'add eggs'
To delete the last item added, say:
'scratch that' (when open)
or:
'alexa tell aisle wise to scratch that' (when not open)
To add a recipe from your personal AisleWise recipe collection, say:
'add recipe mexican soup' (when open)
or:
'alexa tell aisle wise to add recipe mexican soup' (when not open)
